John Byrne Takes the Fantastic Four ‘Back to Basics’ in New Epic Collection

John Byrne begins his five-year run as writer/artist of the Fantastic Four in the new Back to Basics Epic Collection.

Back to Basics collects Fantastic Four #232-248 and a Byrne story from What If? #36 titled “What If the Fantastic Four Had Not Gained Their Powers?”.

Byrne’s debut in 1981restablished the fun, excitement, and drama from the classic Stan Lee and Jack Kirby stories with a modern sensibility with storylines involving the evolution of the Invisible Girl’s powers, a new herald for Galactus, a surprising team-up with Doctor Doom for the nation of Latveria, and plenty of FF villains such as Diablo, Ego: The Living Planet, and Terrax the Tamer.

As an added bonus, the Epic Collection also includes the Fantastic Four Roast #1 by Fred Hembeck and a variety of other Marvel Bullpen greats.

The Fantastic Four: Back to Basics Epic Collection consists of 496 pages for a suggested retail price of $54.99.
