‘Jaws at 50: A Deeper Dive’ Exhibit Opens in Martha’s Vineyard for 50th Anniversary of Jaws

The filming location of Steven Spielberg’s Jaws is hosting a Jaws at 50: A Deeper Dive Exhibit at the Martha’s Vineyard Museum this summer.

Jaws at 50: A Deeper Dive exhibit will run from May 24 through Sept. 7 and features rare photographs, oral histories, original artwork, and authentic movie props from the blockbuster film, celebrating its 50th Anniversary this year.

Highlights include a prop head of Bruce the shark (loaned to the exhibit by Greg Nicotero), a full scale model of the original shark, a full-scale replica of the iconic “Amity Island Welcomes You” sign. and a re-creation of the interior of Captain Quint’s fishing boat, the Orca (which visitors can actually walk through).

The detailed model of the famous ship was constructed by Cort Corino, to be unveiled at the Amity Homecoming Weekend, a five-day celebration of Jaws running from June 19 to 23.
