Howard Chaykin’s “is-it-true-or-fiction?” examination of the birth and struggles of the early comic book industry returns in Hey Kids! Comics! second story arc “Prophets & Loss” this May.
Chaykin’s claims that “Some of it never happened, but it’s all true” and sees the series as “The opportunity to laud and thank the men and women who created the world that has given me a lifetime of pleasure and frustration in equal measure is a gift to this lifelong comics man”.
The second chapter in the series highlights the companies that choose to push the boundaries of comics outside of the realm of funny animals and super heroes, often times at great personal and financial risk.
Hey Kids! Comics! Vol. 2: “Prophets & Loss” #1 will be available at finer comic book shops everywhere on May 5.
