The Hellboy & The BPRD 1950’s line of year-based mini-series will conclude with a set of five one-shot comics that take place in 1957, beginning with Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1957— Family Ties in September.
Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1957—Family Ties is co-written by Mike Mignola and Chris Roberson, with art by Laurence Campbell. Each of the five interconnected one shots will feature a different artist, and each comic will feature a cover by Campbell
Long-time B.P.R.D. writer Roberson knows that “We’ve done some big, sprawling stories in the pages of Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. over the years, so this time we wanted to slow things down a little and spend some quality time with a few of our favorite characters. In each of these one-shots, Hellboy partners up with a different agent from the B.P.R.D. to investigate paranormal strangeness, and things are never quite what they initially appear to be.”
After Family Ties, the remaining four issues will include stories by Mignola and Roberson and a rotating stable of artistic collaborators on the following titles:
Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1957— Forgotten Lives, featuring art by Stephen Green;
Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1957— Fearful Symmetry, featuring art by Alison Sampson
Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1957—Falling Sky, featuring art by Shawn Martinbrough)
Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.: 1957— From Below, featuring art by Mike Norton
