‘Green Lantern: The Silver Age’ Omnibus Vol. 2 Completes Hal Jordan’s Silver Age Adventures

The latest Green Lantern: The Silver Age Omnibus completes Hal Jordan’s Silver Age stories and prepares him to enter into the Bronze Age with Green Arrow.

Green Lantern: The Silver Age Omnibus Vol. 2 contains Green Lantern #36-75 by Gardner Fox, John Broome, Denny O’Neil, Mike Friedrich, Gil Kane, Murphy Anderson, Neal Adams, Vince Colletta, Dick Dillin, Joe Giella, Dick Giordano, Sid Greene Carmine Infantino, Mike Sekowsky, Jack Sparling, and Wally Wood.

Jordan patrols Sector 2814 both on Earth and in space in the collection, which also includes the the first appearance of the Golden Age Green Lantern Alan Scott. Scott makes a few additional appearances in the Omnibus, along with Carol Ferris, the Flash, Zatanna, and “frenemy” and fellow Corps member Guy Gardner, who also debuts in the collection.

The collection is packed with all manner of villains, with perennial foes Sinestro, Black Hand, Hector Hammond, Evil Star, Star Sapphire, and less used ones such as the Aerialist, Brutus Force, Major Disaster, Prince Peril, Dr. Polaris, Goldface, Thraxton the Powerful, the Dazzler, Evil Eye, Missile-Man, and the Lamplighter.

Denny O’Neil takes over with only a few issues left in the Silver Age before the “Hard-Travelling Heroes” Green Arrow/Green Lantern team-up (along with Neal Adams) would set a new bar for socially relevant comics in 1970.

There is also a foreword by TwoMorrow’s Michael Eury.

Green Lantern: The Silver Age Omnibus Vol. 2 consists of 1,000 pages for a suggested retail price of $125.00.
