‘Godzilla: The Showa-Era Films: 1954-1975’ Now Available on HBO Max

If you are looking to get ready for the HBO Max and theatrical debut of Godzilla vs. Kong on March 31, you may want to take a stroll down memory lane with all of the films that made Godzilla a household name outside of Japan.

While HBO Max doesn’t have all of the Showa-Era Godzilla films available for streaming, they do offer 14 of the Saturday afternoon and Chiller Theater classics including the original Godzilla: King of Monsters, Godzilla Raids Again, Rodan, Mothra vs. Godzilla, Ghidorah: The Three Headed Monster, Invasion of Astro-Monster, Ebirah: Horror of the Deep, Son of Godzilla, Destroy All Monsters, Godzilla vs. Hedorah, Godzilla vs. Gigan, Godzilla vs, Megalon, Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, and Terror of Mechagodzilla.

If you would rather indulge in King Kong films, HBO Max also offers the original King Kong, Son of Kong, King Kong (1976), and Kong: Skull Island.

Surprisingly, the original King Kong Vs. Godzilla from 1963 is not available on HBO Max at this time (although it is part of the recent 15 film Showa-Era blu-ray collection for Criterion).

Stay tuned to Conskipper for a review of Godzilla vs. Kong later this week!
