‘Gil Kane’s The Amazing Spider-Man Artisan Edition’ Presents Artist’s Original Work

IDW and Marvel continue to offer fans a look at the original art and process of some of the legends of the industry with Gil Kane’s The Amazing Spider-Man Artisan Edition.

The new edition dedicated to Kane’s work on Amazing Spider-Man features color scans (which appear to be in black and white, so readers can view Kane’s art in its original form, with blue pencils, ink gradients, and even editorial notations.
 
This volume (which was originally collected in the hardcover, over-sized Artist’s Edition from 2012) contains Stan Lee, John Romita Sr, and Kane’s three-part drug abuse storyline from Amazing Spider-Man #96–98, and Roy Thomas and Kane’s three-part story featuring the debut of Morbius, The Living Vampire and the six-armed Spider-Man creature from Amazing Spider-Man #100–102.

The Artisan Edition also contains one of the most harrowing issues in comic history: “The Death of Gwen Stacey” story (by Gerry Conway) from Amazing Spider-Man #121.

Gil Kane’s The Amazing Spider-Man Artisan Edition measure 8″ x 12″ and retails for $39.99.
