Giant-Size X-Men #1 has been released in many formats since 1975, from the original comic, to a plethora of reprints, paperbacks, graphic novels, and omnibuses, but never before has it been so…giant.
The comic by Len Wein and Dave Cockrum that changed the face of the industry will be collected in Marvel’s new 9-1/4″ x 13″ Gallery Edition format, allowing readers to experience the issue on a grand scale.
In addition to the original story, the Gallery Edition also collects the recent Giant-Size X-Men Tribute to Wein & Cockrum issue that brought 36 of Marvel’s top artists together to re-create their epic story, with each drawing one single page. Artists featured in the tribute include: Alex Ross, Kevin Nowlan, Chris Samnee, Marcus To, Siya Oum, Stephen Segovia, Marguerite Sauvage, Carmen Carnero, Bernard Chang, Aaron Kuder, Takeshi Miyazawa, Juann Cabal, Gurihiru, Mark Brooks, Kris Anka, Phil Noto, Valerio Schiti, Leinil Francis Yu, Matteo Lolli, Ema Lupacchino, Carlos Gómez, Iban Coello, R.B. Silva, Ramon Rosanas, Joshua Cassara, David Baldeon, Marcelo Ferreira, Roberto Poggi, Javier Garrón, Rod Reis, Javier Rodríguez, Pepe Larraz, Jen Bartel, Mike del Mundo, Rahzzah, Marco Checchetto and Mike Hawthorne.
The Giant-Size X-Men Tribute to Wein & Cockrum Gallery Edition Hardcover comes with a cover by Adi Granov (the same cover that graced the original tribute comic) and will be in stores on July 28. The giant gallery edition will retail for $44.99.
