Genndy Tartakovsky’s ‘Conan the Barbarian’ Animated Series Coming to Prime Video

A Conan the Barbarian animated series by Genndy Tartakovsky and Cartoon Network Studios is coming to Amazon’s Prime Video streaming service.

Tartakovsky, who is best known for Samurai Jack and Primal, made the announcement via a pre-recorded video message played at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival.

The animator has had his sights on a Conan animated series since 2008, and the new series will be based on classic Robert E. Howard stories.

The official series description reads: “After finding love in the pirate queen, Bêlit, a battle-hardened Conan defies gods, fate and even death to save her from a dark sorcery that threatens to destroy everything.”

There is currently no timeline for the debut of the new series, but you can check out the first promo poster below.
