Focus Features just dropped a brand new trailer for The Northman, the highly anticipated film from The Witch and The Lighthouse writer/director Robert Eggers. The film stars Alexander Skarsgård, The Witch alums Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Ineson, and Katie Dickie, as well as The Lighthouse alum Willem Dafoe, Nicole Kidman, and Ethan Hawke.
Featuring the period-appropriate costuming and attention to detail Eggers is famous for, the trailer promises a story which strays beyond the horror genre of his first two films. The official synopsis for The Northman states that the film is an, “action-filled epic that follows a young Viking prince on his quest to avenge his father’s murder.”
