‘Fantastic Four’ Omnibus Vol. 5 Contains Giant-Size Action

The Fantastic Four face some changes to the status quo while still providing the foundation of the Marvel Universe in the new Fantastic Four Omnibus Vol. 5.

Volume 5 collects Fantastic Four #126-163, Avengers #127, and a plethora of Giant-Size action in Giant-Size Super Stars #1 and Giant-Size Fantastic Four #2-4.

All stories are written by Roy Thomas, Gerry Conway, Marv Wolfman, Tony Isabella, Len Wein, Chris Claremont, and Steve Englehart, with art by John Buscema, Rich Buckler, Ross Andru, Ramona Fradon, Bob Brown, Sal Buscema, Joe Sinnott, Frank Giacoia, Jim Mooney, Chic Stone, and Joe Staton.

Starting with a re-telling of the very first appearance of Marvel’s First Family, the Omnibus delves into classic Bronze Age action with battles against the Mole Man, the new Frightful Four, the Inhumans, Thundra (and her Femizons), Annihilus, the Silver Surfer, Namor, Mahkizmo the Nuclear Man, Madrox the Multiple Man, and Doctor Doom.

Other highlights include Johnny Storm’s acquisition of a new red suit to match his flame powers, the royal wedding of Quicksilver and Crystal, Medusa temporarily filling in for Sue Storm, and plenty of “family” strife.

Fantastic Four Omnibus Vol. 5 consists of 1,008 pages for a suggested retail price of $125.00.

Check out the two covers by Buckler and Sinnott, including a comic shop variant edition featuring an in-ring slugfest between the Thing and the Incredible Hulk.
