Ewok Films and Cartoon and Genndy Tartakovsky’s ‘Star Wars: Clone Wars’ Animated Shorts are Coming to Disney+ in April

Disney+ will release an Endor-sized package of rare Star Wars films and cartoons on April 2 including : Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure, Ewoks: The Battle for Endor, the animated Ewoks TV series, and the animated Star Wars: Clone Wars shorts by Samurai Jack and Primal creator Genndy Tartakovsky.

Disney+ will also release a short animated segment from the famed Star Wars Holiday Special called “The Story of the Faithful Wookiee” which featured the animated debut of Boba Fett, two years before his appearance in The Empire Strikes Back. As expected, there are currently no plans to bring over the entire Holiday Special to Disney+ at this time.

1984’s The Ewok Adventure and 1985’s Ewoks: The Battle for Endor both include Warwick Davis reprising his role as the Ewok Wicket from Return of the Jedi, but neither borrows much from the the original Star Wars films (and is not considered canon, which also applies to The Ewoks animated series and Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars animated shorts, although they did inspire the subsequent Clone Wars series).
