Just because the 10th anniversary of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World was last year doesn’t mean we don’t have to stop celebrating! Writer/director Edgar Wright has just announced a new way for fans to discover or rediscover this modern classic in theaters and on home video.
On April 30th, 2021, a new Dolby Cinema edition of Scott Pilgrim vs. the World will release in theaters. For this release, the film has been remastered in 4K with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. The original team from the film have returned to work on this remaster, including sound mixer Julian Slater, colorist Stephen Nakamura, DP Bill Pope, and editor Paul Machliss. A 4K UHD Blu-Ray release is planned for after the film’s theatrical run. Wright announced these details on his Twitter account, which also included the new trailer below.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World first released in theaters on August 13th, 2010. Featuring an all-star cast including Michael Cera, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Aubrey Plaza, Alison Pill, Brie Larson, and more, the film is regularly praised for its genre-blending originality.
