Dwayne Johnson Discusses ‘Black Adam’ and The Justice Society at DC FanDome

Dwayne Johnson took to the airwaves to discuss the long-awaited Black Adam film at DC FanDome and he revealed some tantalizing details about the cinematic version of one of the most powerful meta-humans in the DC Universe.

Not only did Johnson reveal details about the origin story of Black Adam, he also revealed that multiple members of the Justice Society of America will also be featured in the film, including Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Cyclone, and Atom Smasher.

Johnson also shared an animated video created in part by Jim Lee and Boss Logic (and narrated by Johnson). The story seems to closely follow Geoff Johns’ run on JSA (as well as Black Adam’s segments in DC’s weekly series from 2006 entitled 52). In the animated clip below, Black Adam is depicted as a slave in ancient Kahndaq before he is chosen as the champion of the oppressed people of his nation by the wizard Shazam. However, while Black Adam frees the people of Kahndaq, he also does so in a brutal fashion, and falls out of the wizard’s favor and is banished for thousands of years. l
