The first Green Arrow DC Finest edition collects Mike Grell’s Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters prestige format series from 1987 and the first eight issues of Green Arrow’s first solo series.
The Longbow Hunters reestablished Oliver Queen’s presence as a major star in the DC Universe and dove tailed immediately into his ongoing series with a “Suggested for Mature Readers” label on the cover.
The Green Arrow series was again written by Grell, with art by Ed Hannigan, Dick Giordano, and Frank McLaughlin.
The collection also includes the “Fables” crossover storyline in Green Arrow Annual #1, Detective Comics Annual #1, and The Question Annual #1 by Denny O’Neil, Eduardo Barreto, Paris Cullins, Gary Martin, Tom Artis, Timothy Dzon, Klaus Janson, Tony DeZuniga, Denys Cowan, and Rick Magyar, that sees all of the heroes try to unravel the devious plot of Lady Shiva.
As an added bonus, The Question #17-18 are also a part of the DC Finest Edition, with the rare “A Dream of Rorschach” story (where The Question reads a copy of Watchmen in a memorable meta-tale) and another team-up with Green Arrow.
The DC Finest: Green Arrow: The Longbow Hunters consists 544 pages for a suggested retail price of $39.99.
