DC Comics will launch a brand new digital first series in honor of Princess Diana’s 80th anniversary. The series will be called Sensational Wonder Woman, and it is written by Stephanie Phillips (Wonder Woman: Agent of Peace). Artist Meghan Hetrick and colorist Marissa Louise will bring the book to life.
DC Comics announced the synopsis of the series in a press release. In the first arc of the series, Wonder Woman will fight, “against the evil Doctor Psycho. During a battle with the villain, Wonder Woman sacrifices herself to stop him, the impact from his psychic blast trapping her in an alternate reality. With the help of guest-star Hawkgirl, Diana must remember who she is before it’s too late.” Future issues will feature popular characters such as Cheetah, Steve Trevor, Hippolyta, Wonder Girl and more.
Talented creators such as Colleen Doran, Alyssa Wong, Eleonora Carlini, Mirka Andolfo, Corinna Bechko have already signed up for future arcs in the series.
Sensational Wonder Woman #1 will be available on digital platforms on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. The book will debut with a main cover by Yasmine Putri. The printed version of the book will launch in comic shops on Tuesday, March 2, 2021. The physical copy will also be available with a variant cover by EJIKURE.
