After yet another successful art book campaign for By the Blade, Dan Brereton returns with a follow-up anthology, lending his artistic talents to thirteen stories entitled Swordplay.
The varied tales of sword & sorcery by Cliff Biggers, Cullen Bunn, Michael Burke, Richard Dansky, Christopher Golden, Steven Grant, Tonia Laird, Bracken MacLeod, James A. Moore, Allison Pang, Linda Robertson Reinhardt, Charles R. Rutledge, and the artist himself are accompanied by Brereton’s illustrations of barbarians, monsters, and wizards throughout the entire collection.
Those who backed the By the Blade Kickstarter campaign have already received a digital copy of Swordplay, but it can also be purchased on Amazon in paperback, hardcover, or Kindle. Brereton also hinted in his last update that budsartbooks.com may be offering the hardcover signed and sketched very limited edition.
Brereton said that Swordplay is “A bit different for me as it’s a group effort – so many talented yarn-spinners contributed!”
Brereton will be back to the drawing board next year with a brand new project as well.
