Cinemark Offers ‘Bring You Own Bucket’ Day to Celebrate National Popcorn Day 2025

If you favorite thing about going to the movies is overindulging in mounds of buttery popcorn, you need to get to your local Cinemark on January 19, 2025 to celebrate their version of National Popcorn Day. Oh, and don’t forget to bring your own bucket if you really want to go hog wild.

Cinemark theaters will celebrate the chain’s first-ever “Bring Your Own Bucket” day in honor of National Popcorn Day on Sunday, Jan. 19, inviting all popcorn lovers to bring their own containers to their local theaters to receive a $5 fill up (as long as the container is clean and does not exceed 400 ounces).

And if you don’t want to bring your own bucket, don’t worry. You can also get an XL popcorn (which includes a free refill on any day of the year) for $5.00. Cinemark is also encouraging people to come on down and get their buckets or an XL box filled even if they don’t have a ticket to a movie on January 19.

“National Popcorn Day is one of the best days of the year at Cinemark, and for popcorn lovers everywhere. We are thrilled to mark this year’s celebration with our first ever ‘Bring Your Own Bucket’ event, in addition to limited time sweepstakes and promotions,” said David Haywood, Cinemark SVP Food & Beverage. “Popcorn has always been the star of movie theater concessions, though popcorn vessels have become an award-worthy supporting actor. We are excited for everyone to get creative with this campaign and show off their choice of container while enjoying the iconic snack alongside a great film.”

Cinemark is also running a promotion on January 19 for all who follow Cinemark’s official Instagram account (@Cinemark). If you tag three friends in the comments of the National Popcorn Day sweepstakes post, they will be entered into a contest to win a free large popcorn.
