Christopher Cantwell and Pasqual Ferry Bring Namor to ‘Conquered Shores’ in New Series

Namor swims into a flooded future in Christopher Cantwell and Pasqual Ferry’s new Namor: Conquered Shores series in October.

Cantwell was excited to share the news on twitter and called the project “…a very, very special thing” and said that “This is the first idea I’ve ever blind pitched to Marvel, and I’m thrilled that they said yes.”

According to Cantwell, “The story takes place 100 years into the future on a mostly flooded Earth. Namor rules the world, but in his twilight years he reflects on a mercurial life, how his friends were often also foes, and how so much of the world he knew — and railed against — has vanished. A seasoned, wiser Namor now sets out on a mission of aid and mercy — to save remaining humans on the surface.”

Cantwell calls the Conquered Shores his “…love letter to Marvel Comics itself” and drew from work by Sub-Mariner alumni such as creator Bill Everett, John Byrne, and Grant Morrison for his depiction of the troubled prince.

Namor the Sub-Mariner: Conquered Shores #1 will be available at your local comic shop on October 12.
