‘Captain America: The Bloodstone Hunt’ Epic Collection Returns in March

One of Mark Gruenwald’s most popular Captain America story arcs serves as the centerpiece for the new printing of Marvel Comics’ Captain America: The Bloodstone Hunt Epic Collection.

The Bloodstone Hunt Epic Collection (originally published in 2018) collects Captain America #351-371 by Gruenwald, Kieron Dwyer, Ron Lim, Rich Buckler, Danny Bulanadi, and Al Milgrom and contains a plethora of shield-slinging goodness from the late 80s.

The stories begin with Cap having taken back his rights as the original super soldier from John Walker (collected in last spring’s Captain America Epic Collection: The Captain) and he gets right back to business fighting the Supreme Soviets (alongside fellow patriot, Nick Fury). From there, Steve battles Mother Night’s camp of hate and begins the six part Bloodstone Hunt, as Baron Zemo steals the infamous Bloodstone from the skeleton of adventurer Ulysses Bloodstone.

Other highlights in the collection include the first appearance of John Walker as U.S.Agent, showdowns with Batroc, Crossbones, The Submariner, The Controller, Magneto, and the Red Skull, with the erstwhile help of partner/girlfriend Diamondback all along the way.

The Bloodstone Hunt has been collected two other times back in 1993 and 2010, although those editions only included issues #357-364.

Captain America: The Bloodstone Hunt Epic Collection returns to store on March 9, and contains 496 pages for a suggested retail price of $44.99.
