While combating aliens isn’t exactly what Batman is known for, when the Earth needs him, we all known that the Dark Knight will come through!
Gary Whitta and Darick Robertson’s upcoming eight issue mini-series, Batman: Fortress, places Batman at the forefront of earth’s defense when Superman goes missing. Without the Man of Steel’s help, the Bat must rally the Justice League to face the new, mysterious threat, and keep tabs on a wild Gotham City that has been plunged into darkness.
Robertson is excited to work with Whitta on the project, and says that Batman is “…a character that is one of my all-time favorites to draw. I’m having the best time creating the art for this series and with my pal and original The Boys editor, Ben Abernathy at the helm, it’s been a dream project, with a lot of fun twists and surprises ahead for the readers!”
Whitta relishes “The opportunity to once again collaborate with my friend Darick Robertson makes this all the sweeter. I hope that together we’ve done justice to some of DC’s most iconic characters, while at the same time reinventing everything you thought you knew about them…”
Batman: Fortress will be in stores on May 24 with a standard and 1:25 variant cover by Robertson, as well as a variant cover by Doaly.
