‘Avengers: The Collection Obsession’ Epic Collection Captures Early 90s Avengers Action

Those nostalgic for early 90s Avengers action can get their fix with the re-release of the Avengers: The Collection Obsession Epic Collection.

The Collection (originally published in 2018) contains the title story from The Avengers #334-344, pitting the Avengers against The Brethren and the devious Collector, and the six-part summer annual crossover “The Subterranean Wars” in Avengers Annual #20, The Incredible Hulk Annual #17, Namor the Sub-Mariner Annual #1, Iron Man Annual #12, and Avengers West Coast Annual #6.

Collection Obsession also includes the surprisingly rare Avengers: Death Trap-The Vault graphic novel from 1991 by Danny Fingeroth, Ron Lim, Jim Sanders, and Fred Fredericks. The “inmates taking over the asylum” story was reprinted in 1993 to capitalize on Venom’s popularity as Venom: Death Trap-The Vault, knocking the Avengers right off the title.

The Epic Collection contains work by Bob Harras, David Michelinie, Scott Lobdell, Fabian Nicieza, Paul Ryan, Peter Sanderson, Roy Thomas, Dann Thomas, Peter David, Andy Kubert, Jeff Moore, Steve Epting, Paul Abrams, Kevin West, Ron Lim, Ron Wagner, Tom Morgan, and George Freeman.

Avengers: The Collection Obsession Epic Collection (hey, that rhymes!) will be in stores on October 5 and consists of 496 pages, with a suggested retail price of $44.99.
