‘Amazing Spider-Man: The Death of Captain Stacy’ Epic Collection Coming in October

Spider-Man has had his fair share of emotional storylines over the years, but one of the first that added to Peter Parker’s guilty conscience was Stan Lee and John Romita Sr.’s “The Death of Captain Stacy” saga.

For those that missed the comics the first time around (and don’t want to take out a second mortgage to buy all of the original issues) or just want to relive some of Spidey’s best stories, October’s Amazing Spider-Man: The Death of Gwen Stacy Epic Collection will help you scratch that Spider-bite itch.

The collection features stories originally published in Amazing Spider-Man #86-104 by Lee, Romita Sr., Roy Thomas, Gil Kane, and John Buscema such as the aforemetioned tragedy surrounding Gwen’s father, The Black Widow’s debut in her classic black costume, the first appearance of Morbius the Living Vampire, and battles with The Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Kraven, The Prowler, and more.

The Epic Collection also contains the famous 1971 anti-drug tale in Amazing Spider-Man #96 that did not carry the official seal of approval from the Comics Code Authority (which banned any drug references, pro or con).

Amazing Spider-Man: The Death of Gwen Stacy Epic Collection will be in comic shops on October 20 and will retail for $39.99.
