For the first time in forty years, Marvel has licensed one of their properties to another publisher, Abrams ComicArts, for an over-sized Alex Ross extravaganza entitled Fantastic Four: Full Circle.
Full Circle represents a first for Ross, who will not only illustrate his first stand-alone graphic novel, but he will also handle the writing chores on a comic book for the first time.
The 8 1/2 x 11 hardcover will also include a full-color foldout poster featuring an all-new fully painted origin of the Fantastic Four.
As evidenced by the cover below, the story takes place in one of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby’s trippy dimensions, the Negative Zone, after “…creatures composed of Negative Energy come to Earth using a human host as a delivery system” and the First Family has to journey there to stop them.
Ross is excited to share his Fantastic Four story with fans, saying that “This is the Fantastic Four story I have been wanting to tell for years, and visually it is one of the greatest artistic experiments I have attempted. I’m excited to share this work with everyone, as it unites the two great publishing forces of Marvel and Abrams ComicArts in a bold new collaboration.”
Look for Fantastic Four: Full Circle (with a retail price of $24.99) at your local comic shop or book store on September 7, 2022.
