Canada’s celebration of genre films, The Fantasia International Film Festival, turns 25 this year and kicks off with an in-person screening of James Gunn’s upcoming Suicide Squad film on August 4 at Montreal’s Imperial Theater.
Tickets for the special event screening will be available to the public and Suicide Squad will debut two days earlier than the film’s scheduled North American release date (on August 6). Suicide Squad will also be available on HBO Max as part of their previous plans to stream all Warner Bros releases in-person and virtually for 2021.
The Fantasia International Film Festival 25th edition will primarily be a virtual event this year, comprised of scheduled screenings, on-demand library, panels, and workshops, from August 5 to August 25.
The festival will only be accessible across Canada (geo-locked) and ticket information will be available soon.
As usual, Fantasia will screen dozens of films from every genre imaginable, so check out the official website for the full line-up.
