Logan is always on the brink of reverting to his animal side, and after the fall of Krakoa, Saladin Ahmed and Martín Cóccolo push the feral hero off the edge at the start of their new ongoing series.
Ahmed and Cóccolo’s new run (with a new #1 designation, of course) begins in the Canadian wilderness where Wolverine starts to run with the pack again (the wolf pack that is) and is introduced to an old enemy from Logan’s past who re-emerges as a new villain.
Nightcrawler will also play a key role in the new series, as the kind-hearted teleporter tries to appeal to the remaining human aspects of Wolverine.
Ahmed said “Logan is simultaneously a mythic hero, an abused animal, and a man of flesh, blood, and adamantium. Our story is about what happens when these parts of him all pull in opposite directions – and threaten to rip Logan to pieces that won’t come back together again.”
Cóccolo is excited to work with Ahmed, and said “Saladin’s exploration of the character and the story is incredibly exciting as a concept as well as visually engaging, and I can’t wait for people to finally see it!”
The new Wolverine series is a part of the new “From the Ashes” reorganization and refocusing of the X-Men line and will be available at your local comic shop on September 11.
