The first three offerings include: Hardware “The Man in the Machine” (by Dwayne McDuffie, Denys Cowan, and J.J. Birch), Icon “A Hero’s Welcome” (by McDuffie and M.D. Bright), and Icon Vol. 2 “The Mothership Connection” (by McDuffie, Bright, and Mike Gustovich).
Milestone was revolutionary at the time for creating an entire comic universe (the so-called Dakotaverse) comprised of a very diverse roster of heroes and villains. The original publishing venture lasted until 1996. Milestone Media was also responsible for the WB’s animated hit series Static Shock, which ran from 2000 through 2004.
