Shudder’s new documentary Horror Noire: A History of Black Horror (based on Professor Robin Means Coleman’s Horror Noire: Blacks in American Horror Films from the 1980s to the Present) follows up on Get Out in just this fashion by starting a conversation that highlights the influence of Black actors, writers, and directors on the genre, as well as the changing perspectives about race, both on screen and off.
Long-time horror host Joe Bob Briggs took the opportunity to discuss his upcoming marathons and his feelings about his recent marathon experience at the Shudder panel at this year’s New York Comic Con.
Fans of George Romero’s and Stephen King’s original Creepshow film will be happy to hear that according to showrunner Greg Nicotero, the new Shudder series will follow a similar format to the 1982 film and will, as the original tagline promised, be “the most fun you’ll ever have…being scared!”
